For some reason John’s suggestions made me think you should try using the name “Greybeard & Dash”, but I don’t think we’d ever be able to read your blog with a straight face again How about “The Amazing Rando”! I’m sorry, you wanted serious suggestions, but John started it! The only serious suggestion that currently comes to mind would be “In the Moment”.

To this day, I wake up in cold sweats, fearing a rotund man with a gentle southern accent is about to plunge a hairbrush into my ear.

It occurs to me that it must never be so difficult as it is today to be a decent Christian. And when I say “decent,” I mean the kind that says “I love my neighbor, I am kind, even to those with whom I disagree, I don’t tell people to go to hell, I don’t call homosexuals ‘fags’ and then go tea-bagging.”

Please, observe the constitutionally-mandated separation between church and knife show.

I’ve noticed the same thing about blogging and Facebook. It’s almost as if Facebook has killed the personal blog–even my own! Very few of my friends post on their blogs anymore. There’s some downside to it, though. For one, since most Facebook pages aren’t private, there’s no way to meet people that you aren’t really “friends” with. I have several blogs that I visit who are “Internet only” friends; we’ve never actually met in person. And, I met them through their blogs. If they were only using Facebook, I would’ve never met them. Also, the archiving/searching of Facebook is horrible/non-existent. “Where are those photos I posted three months ago?” Good luck finding them.
