This is my first “official” blog post at wordpress.com. My other blog, a wordpress install on a separate host, is currently suspended due to a hack-in that compromised the site, so much so that I’ll most likely need to wipe everything and start from scratch. So, until I can get my domain back up and running (and maybe even after, who knows?), here we are.
If nothing else, this has shown me the importance of always knowing what scripts you have installed on your server. The hacker most likely found a way in through a mailing list script I installed a few years ago to try out and ended up not using.
(Oh, and if you’re trying to reach me via email, be sure to use my Gmail address, as the other one is temporarily down along with the rest of my domain…)
