Sometimes, the only thing you need to clear your mind of all the crap within is a nice long walk.
Carla and I are sitting in this Sunday with the worship band at our old church, so I stayed in Portland after work to rehearse last night. After rehearsal got out, I noticed I was woefully behind on my steps for the day, and decided to do a bit of walking around Back Cove.
I couldn’t find any pictures of my favorite part of the walk – over the bridge, looking out across the bay after the sun has just set with the city skyline directly ahead of you – but when you can spend about an hour watching the sunset reflect like gold off the windows of downtown; watching the stars appear one by one; it tends to put all the stray trash of life in perspective.
