There’s a huge open field that I pass by each night on my commute home. For months now, all I’ve ever been able to see as I drive past is the shadows of trees in the distance and the sky only slightly lighter than the shadows as twilight descends and night takes over.
Yesterday was the first day in ages that I’ve been able to drive past that field and actually see the field after 5:00. I’ve often wondered if I have a little bit of seasonal affective disorder, since my emotions can be really affected by light.
Regardless, it’s good to know that my workday won’t be bookended by darkness for much longer.
